Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of GenReel, including credits, payments, content rules and liability.

Last updated: 2026-11-05

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and GenReel ("we", "us", "our") and govern your access to and use of the GenReel website, applications and related services (the "Service").

By accessing the Service, creating an account or purchasing credits, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your place of residence if that is higher.
  • You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, where the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other users.
  • Account deletion is handled by request; there is no self-service option. To request deletion, contact us using the contact details below.

3. Service Description

GenReel generates short AI videos from your photos. You choose a trend template, which is a reference scene with fixed camera work and cuts, and place your photos into the designated photo slots. The Service then produces a short MP4 using third-party video generation models. The model depends on the template: most templates use Seedance 2.0 Fast (ByteDance), and the Tiny Desk template uses Wan 3.0 (Alibaba). We name the models we use; if we add or change models, we will update this section and the pricing page. The Service does not accept text prompts as input for generation.

Independent product. GenReel is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the providers of the AI models we use, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or licensed by the creators or artists behind the trend videos that inspire the templates. We provide access to third-party models through our own interface. We do not own or control those models, and their behaviour may change independently of us.

4. Credits, Payments and Refunds

GenReel is sold through one-time credit packs only. We do not offer subscriptions, we do not bill on a recurring basis, we do not auto-renew anything, and we do not store a payment method for future charges.

  • Credit packs are currently offered in denominations of 800, 2,400, 4,800 and 9,600 credits, priced in US dollars at $8.99, $24.99, $47.99 and $89.99 respectively.
  • At current rates, 800 credits corresponds to one 15-second 720p video. Consumption rates may change, and the rate that applies to a generation is the rate shown in the Service when you start it.
  • Credits are prepaid, consumed per generation, non-transferable between accounts and have no cash value.
  • Credits currently have no expiry date. We may introduce an expiry policy in future and will give notice before it applies to credits you already hold.
  • Taxes may apply depending on where you are located and are shown where required.
  • Payments are processed by third-party providers, which may include Stripe, PayPal, Creem, Waffo Pancake, Alipay and WeChat Pay. We do not store full card numbers.

Merchant of record. Where a purchase is processed by Waffo Pancake, Waffo Pancake acts as the merchant of record and legal seller for that transaction. It collects payment, handles applicable taxes, issues the receipt and appears as the seller on the invoice. GenReel supplies the Service and remains responsible for the product itself. Refunds and chargebacks on those transactions are handled through Waffo Pancake in line with this section.

Failed generations. If a generation fails, or a finished clip is withheld because it does not pass our content checks, the credits consumed by that generation are returned to your balance automatically. Credits are not returned where your account is terminated for breach of these Terms, including Section 7.

Unused credits. If you have not used any credits from a pack, you may request a full refund of that pack within 7 days of purchase. Once credits from a pack have been used, that pack is non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or where the Service failed to deliver what you paid for.

Refunds. Outside the 7-day unused-credit window, requests for a monetary refund are reviewed case by case. We consider factors such as whether credits have been consumed, whether the Service was available, and the circumstances of the request. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law that applies to you. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us using the contact details below before raising a chargeback, so that we can look into it.

5. User Content and Responsibilities

You keep ownership of the photos and other materials you upload ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and transmit Your Content to third-party model providers solely to operate the Service and generate your requested output. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

By uploading Your Content, you represent that:

  • You own it, or have all permissions and rights needed to upload it and have it processed as described in these Terms.
  • Every identifiable person depicted in it has consented to their image being used in this way, to the creation of an AI-generated video with their likeness, and to that video being shared.
  • No person depicted in it is a minor.
  • If you intend to use your content or an output for commercial purposes, you have the right to do so and to obtain any permissions required.

You are responsible for Your Content and for the consequences of uploading it. We may remove Your Content where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or applicable law.

6. Generated Output and Intellectual Property

Subject to these Terms, you may use outputs for commercial purposes, subject to applicable law and any third-party rights that may apply. We do not grant rights to any third-party music, footage, names, trademarks or likenesses.

  • We do not assert ownership over your generated output.
  • We do not guarantee that output is unique, accurate or free of third-party rights.
  • Outputs are produced by third-party models and may resemble the reference template, including its composition, camera work and cuts, and may resemble output produced for other users.
  • Generated videos are stored for up to 30 days. Please download and keep your own copies; we are not responsible for output that is no longer available after that period.
  • Outputs are provided as watermark-free MP4 files.
  • Outputs are synthetic. You must not present them as authentic footage of a real person or event, and you must label them as AI-generated where required by law or platform rules.

The Service itself, including our software, interface, templates and branding, remains owned by us or our licensors. You are responsible for reviewing output before publishing or commercial use.

7. Acceptable Use

These restrictions are a core condition of using GenReel. Breaching them may result in immediate suspension or termination, and in reports to the relevant authorities where required.

You must not use the Service to create, upload, request or distribute:

  • Sexual or sexually suggestive content of any kind, including nudity.
  • Any content involving minors in a sexual, abusive or exploitative context.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Face-swap, deepfake or other manipulated depiction of a real person to make them appear as someone else, or impersonation of a real person, without that person's consent; or any use that presents an output as authentic footage of a real person saying or doing something they did not say or do.
  • Content depicting public figures, or depicting any real person in a misleading, defamatory or sexual manner.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence or hatred against any person or group.
  • Illegal content, or content that promotes illegal activity.
  • Content that infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party.
  • Malware, or any code or file designed to disrupt or damage systems.
  • Automated scraping, crawling or bulk extraction of the Service or its content.

You must also not:

  • Resell, sublicense or redistribute access to the Service, or make it available to third parties as a service of your own.
  • Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, credits, moderation, rate limits or any other technical restriction.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, accounts or data.
  • Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service.

This section sets out the core rules. Our Acceptable Use Policy contains the full policy, including how we screen content and how we enforce these rules.

8. Moderation and Blocked Requests

We may screen inputs and outputs using automated tools, human review, or both, to check for content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

  • We may block a request before generation, or remove output after generation.
  • Where a request is blocked, we do not charge credits for it where it is technically possible to avoid doing so.
  • Moderation decisions are made at our discretion, and we do not guarantee that all prohibited content will be detected.

9. Third-Party Models and Services

The Service relies on third-party AI models and infrastructure, and your use of the Service may also be subject to those third parties' terms.

We do not control third-party models. Their availability, capabilities, pricing and policies may change without notice, and a model or template may be withdrawn. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

10. Trend Templates and Third-Party Material

Trend templates use fixed, allowlisted reference scenes. Names, trademarks, music, likenesses and other material associated with the videos that inspire a template belong to their respective owners.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or licensed by the original creators, artists, brands or public figures that a template may evoke. The availability of a template does not indicate any endorsement, partnership or authorization. We do not grant rights to any third-party music, footage, names, trademarks or likenesses.

Your use of output may be subject to the rights of third parties, including where a template involves music or other material. You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed for your intended use.

11. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, including features, templates, credit denominations and generation parameters. Where we consider it appropriate, we will try to give notice of significant changes.

We do not guarantee any level of uptime or availability. The Service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, capacity reasons, third-party outages or events outside our control.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account using the contact details below.

We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these Terms, where the law requires it, or where continuing to provide the Service to you would expose us or others to risk.

  • On termination for breach, unused credits may be cancelled.
  • Where we terminate for reasons other than your breach, we will consider unused credits on your account in good faith.
  • Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory consumer rights you have.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that output will meet your expectations.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your content, your use of output, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

We will notify you of any such claim and may participate in its defence. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault on our part without our consent.

16. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we handle it.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where our business is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of mandatory rules of the law of your place of residence.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first using the contact details below so that we can try to resolve it informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue the remedies available under the applicable law.

18. Updates to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, the date shown at the top of this page will change.

Where a change is material, we will notify you through the Service or by email before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service.
